August 24- Business Chronicles Real Conversations
Judge Crystal Denise Harmon had a busy and productive day at the Business Chronicles event presented by Nspire Advisory Services. The event provided a platform for participants to engage with a diverse group of talented women, network with local community leaders and business owners, and gain valuable human resources connections.
The format of the event was very engaging and interactive, allowing attendees to ask questions and receive advice from the panelists. This kind of direct engagement can be incredibly beneficial, as it provides an opportunity for participants to gain insights and perspectives directly from experienced professionals. One particularly enjoyable moment for me was when I had the chance to interact with students from Savannah State University after the event. I was impressed with their attentiveness and questions; I am elated that I was able to help them gain valuable knowledge and guidance as they pursue their academic and professional paths. Events like these play a significant role in fostering connections, sharing knowledge, and empowering the next generation of professionals. A huge shoutout to other panelists who actively engage with the community to help grow and development the next generation of leaders. |
August 14- Judge harmon awards 1st year teachers
Education has always been a big part of my life. My parents, especially my father, pushed me to get my education. I was blessed to attend good public schools with teachers that took their time with me and made learning fun! My cousin, Gerald, is a teacher. Additionally, my Auntie Christine and Great Aunt Helen were both teachers and taught for over 30 years. So needless to say, I love education and respect, admire and cherish all the wonderful teachers out there.
With the 2023-2024 school year kicking off, I wanted to do something for two special schools in the Garden City area. Gould Elementary School and Garden City Elementary School were the two schools my team and I selected! Two first year teachers, were selected at each school, to receive a donation from me in the amount to $250.00. I am excited to assist the district, the schools, teachers and scholars with this donation to help with PBIS and other initiatives teachers would like to use to celebrate the academic and behavioral growth of our scholars.
Ms. Mott of Garden City Elementary and Ms. Vargas of Gould Elementary were the recipients. I truly hope the donation can be of benefit to each of you and your amazing students I got to meet this morning!!
And many thanks to Ms. Mott’s class!! They surprised me and brought tears to my eyes this morning!! I got hugs from all the scholars, received a gift and each of them wrote me beautiful cards/letters!!
